General Information A prospective student who is considering the possible transfer of Huntington College of Health Sciences (HCHS) credits to another college or university should speak with an HCHS counselor concerning the particular HCHS courses and the college or university to which they may wish to transfer those credits. HCHS participates in the American Council on Education program for the transfer of college credits (all 23 undergraduate college level courses are registered with ACE). For further information you may contact the American Council on Education at One Dupont Circle, Suite 250, Washington, DC 20036-1193, (202) 939-9431. A student who wishes to receive college credit through the American Council on Education credit transfer program must register with the American Council on Education. There is a one-time registration fee of $25 and thereafter a fee of $5 per college transcript.
Undergraduates pursuing a Diploma may receive up to 6 hours of transfer credit which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements of student’s diploma program at HCHS. Undergraduates pursuing an Associate’s Degree may receive up to 30 hours of transfer credit for courses which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements of students’ degree programs at HCHS . Graduate students pursuing a Master’s Degree may receive up to 15 (thesis option) or 18 (non-thesis option) hours of transfer credit for courses which satisfy the subject matter and curriculum requirements of students’ degree programs at HCHS.
Final Examination For College Credit All students enrolled in HCHS's college credit courses or programs will be required to take a supervised (proctored) final examination upon completion of each Academy course. The procedure is as follows: the student selects a supervisor (proctor) from among a list of qualified individuals (librarian, school principal, college testing officer, notary public, military education officer, etc.), the Academy sends the final examination to the proctor and the student completes the examination under the proctor's supervision. Complete instructions for the final examination are included in the Student Study Guide for each course.
